A Study on the After-Care of Tuverculin Positive School Children in a Rural Area

Abstract
|
|
|
A tuberculin test was performed to 4,151 school children (4-6th years school children of primary schools) in the rural areas of Andong and Sangju Kum (county) on the period of July and Sep tember in 1965.
A study on the after-care such as X-ray check, physical examination and other matters was carried out to 1,072 tuberculin test positivers among the school children during the period of 1 September to 31 October 1966. And the following results were obtained.
1) The positive rate of the test was 34.7% as a total, 34.6% in male and 34.8% in female. The rate was increased with the increase of school years.
2) The rate of X-ray check among the tuberculin test positive school children was 5.5%. Among the checked 52.5% was taken at health centers, 33.8% at private clinics and 13.7% at hospitals.
3) The of receiving physical examination among the positivers was 17.8%. Among them 10 pulmonary tuberculosis(5.2%) were announced to be diagnosed.
4) The rate of having tuberculosis patients in their homes was 8.1% among the positivers.
